Guide-me meter not a good

Guide meter is much better than the Guide-Me meter. Spend a litte extra you will not be sorry

Not sure about accuracy and a bit awkward

When I received my new unit, I took a reading. And then to compare, I immediately took another reading with my old Accu-Chek Smartview meter using the same drop of blood. The new Guide Me meter showed a difference of PLUS 15. I was kind of shocked there would be such a huge difference. The reason I changed over to the Guide Me was because the price for the Smartview strips was getting SO expensive. The Smartview strips are larger and easier to handle. The Guide Me strips are difficult to retrieve out of the holder without contaminating either end and are so small, difficult to slide into the meter. If the price for the strips came down on Smartview, I would go back to that unit. Disappointing.

The Perfect Meter

Excellent in every respect. In 2 weeks I have lowered my A1c from an actual 9.8 to a projected 6.2. The phone app is what does it. Your reading shows up on your phone within 2-3 seconds after it displays on the meter. The layout and graphs make following your progress easy. Input of meals, meds, etc, is all by touching icons...little/no typing. Best for last. You can set a reminder! I use it to remind me to take a reading 2 hours after a meal. I am considering using it to remind me of morning/night time meds. I have been looking for that in a meter for over 10 years. The only thing to make it better is if it could take a reading without having to stick yourself. Well, I can dream, can't I?
